GuruFocus' baskets feature allows users to vote a stock into one of two categories: Like or Dislike.
Introduction
Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.A)(BRK.B) co-managers Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) and Charlie Munger (Trades, Portfolio) said that the Omaha, Nebraska-based conglomerate has three baskets for investing: yes, no and too tough to understand.
GuruFocus allows you to vote on whether you have placed a stock into one of two baskets:
- Like: You are interested in the stock. Either you are buying shares, considering buying shares or researching the stock for later.
- Dislike: You are not interested in the stock.
Selecting a basket in GuruFocus
To vote a stock on GuruFocus, click either the thumbs up button or the thumbs down button to the right of the blue “+ Portfolio” button.
If you click the thumbs up button, you will receive a notification that the stock is added to your "Basket: Buying” / “Liked” portfolio. On the other hand, if you click the thumbs down button, you will receive a notification that the stock is added to your “Not Interested” portfolio.
You can also vote a stock in the All-in-one Screener results. The results also show you the stocks that you liked and disliked; you can also undo your vote.
Tracking votes for each stock
The pop-up window also gives the number of distinct votes for each basket. The “basket” page gives historical data on the votes for each basket.
