HSBC Holdings has announced that Annabel Spring, the global head of private banking and wealth management, will depart following a management restructuring led by new CEO Georges Elhedery. Her role will be divided between Gabriel Castello and Lavanya Chari. This move is part of a broader restructuring effort initiated by Elhedery since he took over as CEO in September. The bank has asked hundreds of managers to reapply for positions in the newly established Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division. Elhedery has reduced the management committee by about a third and reorganized the bank into four new divisions to streamline operations.
