TSMC Founder Reveals Attempt to Recruit NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang

In his newly published autobiography, TSMC founder Morris Chang shares insights into his professional journey and relationships with key industry figures, including NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang. In 2013, Chang considered Huang as an ideal successor for TSMC due to his expertise and character. However, Huang declined the offer, stating he was committed to his role at NVIDIA, which has since grown significantly.

Chang highlights the strong partnership between TSMC and NVIDIA, crucial for AI advancements. TSMC's advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities support NVIDIA's cutting-edge GPU developments. TSMC recently became the first non-U.S. tech company to surpass a $1 trillion market value, driven by AI demand.

Additionally, Chang discusses Intel's past and current strategies, noting Intel's shift towards becoming a foundry. TSMC's expansion in the U.S. includes a $66 billion government subsidy for its Arizona facilities, set to feature advanced 2-nanometer technology by 2028.
