Li Auto (LI, Financial) is rapidly advancing its end-to-end intelligent driving technology, having released over 30 iterations in just four months. The company's recent Intelligent Driving Experience Day showcased their latest advancements across various driving settings, including urban roads and highways, with the vehicles upgraded to OTA 6.5 version.
The OTA 6.5 update equips vehicles to handle complex driving scenarios such as narrow community roads, roundabouts, and construction areas. It also supports autonomous toll pass-through on highways and seamlessly integrates navigation endpoints with AVP valet parking routes, offering a truly continuous driving experience.
During test drives, Li Auto demonstrated its industry-leading Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and the innovative Automatic Emergency Steering (AES) functions. The update emphasizes improvements in rear active safety capabilities, including the development of Rear AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) and Rear MAI (Misacceleration Inhibition) functions, enhancing active safety in all directions.
By the end of November, the "parking-to-parking" feature is expected to be rolled out to all Li Auto AD Max users via the OTA 6.5 system, aiming to provide a seamless smart driving experience.
Li Auto's end-to-end + VLM (Visual Language Model) approach marks a new era in intelligent driving solutions, implementing a dual-system strategy on vehicle-end chips. Since introducing the end-to-end + VLM plan in July, Li Auto has achieved rapid iteration with 25 model updates over two months, showcasing a rare pace in the competitive automotive sector.
As of mid-November, Li Auto's intelligent driving had accumulated a milestone of 2.67 billion kilometers, a 123% increase since last year, with over 3.6 million successful safety interventions. This impressive progress places Li Auto on par with competitors like Tesla in the autonomous driving arena.
Enhanced intelligent driving capabilities are influencing consumer preferences, contributing significantly to sales, particularly for higher-priced models. Currently, Li Auto's AD Max accounts for 70% of sales in vehicles priced over 300,000 RMB, and 80% in those over 400,000 RMB.
Focusing on intelligent driving, Li Auto aims to strengthen its competitiveness and accelerate its growth toward becoming a major force in the automotive industry, especially in the booming new energy and smart vehicle segment.
