Southwest Airlines (LUV, Financial) plans to offer voluntary leave or extended vacation options to airport staff across 18 cities, including Los Angeles and Atlanta. This move comes as the airline faces aircraft delivery delays, prompting a reduction in its flight schedule.
Southwest stated that these options will be available to various ground staff, including customer service representatives, ramp and operations agents, and, in certain cases, cargo employees and supervisors. Additionally, employees at the company’s headquarters who support airport operations will have the option to choose buyouts.
