Dr. Charlie Tian, the founder and CEO of GuruFocus, went live today to discuss a successful investment, share new features on the website as well as answer questions from users.
To start, he welcomed special guest Peter O'Keefe, a co-founder of O'Keefe Stevens Advisory. O'Keefe discussed finding value in unwanted and unloved securities and shared about his firm's successful investment in Nvidia (NVDA, Financial).
Founded in 2017, the firm's six members manage a $300 million portfolio of concentrated equity investments. O'Keefe's investment philosophy is highly influenced by the late legendary investor Marty Whitman's value approach of attempting to find businesses with strong balance sheets and solid long-term potential.
Over the 10-plus years the firm has held the position, the stock has climbed substantially.
Following the presentation, Tian then highlighted some of the other stocks O'Keefe sees value in currently, which include Five Point Holdings LLC (FPH, Financial).
He went on to discuss some new features that have been introduced over the past month, including changes to the DCF Calculator, All-in-One Screener and My Portfolios.
Tian also answered a number of questions from users, covering topics like stock valuations, strategy recommendations and screener functions.
