OpenAI is contemplating removing a clause that restricts Microsoft from accessing its AGI technology. This move aims to secure further investments from Microsoft and other investors. The current clause was intended to prevent misuse but has become an obstacle in their partnership.

OpenAI's board is exploring options to modify this clause, which could enhance collaboration and attract more funding, crucial for competing with tech giants like Google and Amazon. Microsoft has already invested over $13 billion in OpenAI. The company, led by Sam Altman, is transitioning to a for-profit model with a recent valuation of $150 billion.

Altman highlighted the need for flexibility in their structure to accommodate unforeseen developments in AGI. Discussions with investors, including Microsoft, are ongoing.
