OpenAI, known for its ChatGPT, is considering integrating advertising into its products to diversify its revenue streams. The company has been hiring advertising talent from major tech firms like Meta (META, Financial) and Google (GOOGL). Although OpenAI's CFO, Sarah Friar, acknowledged the potential for growth within their current business model, she stated that there are no immediate plans to implement advertising. Smaller competitors, such as Perplexity, have already begun testing ads in their AI search engines.

In other developments, Elon Musk has reportedly requested a U.S. federal court to prevent OpenAI from transitioning into a for-profit entity, citing concerns over anti-competitive practices. Additionally, OpenAI is rumored to be considering launching its own web browser to compete with Google Chrome. The company, supported by Microsoft (MSFT), recently secured $6.6 billion in funding, elevating its valuation to $157 billion, making it the world's second-highest valued startup.
