Apple (AAPL, Financials) is expected to debut its first smart home camera in 2026, marking its entry into the smart home security market, according to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo; AAPL stock is unmoved in Tuesday's trading, with shares changing hands for $224.18 on last look.
The camera is said to be built to wirelessly link with Apple's hardware ecosystem and is scheduled for production in 2026.
While the present worldwide smart home camera market is between 30 million to 40 million units yearly, Kuo said Apple wants to ship 10 million devices annually in the long run. With its Ring and Nest devices respectively, Amazon and Google have already made names for themselves in this field.
Kuo pointed out that Apple's ecosystem—which includes Siri's and Apple Intelligence's integration—would improve the new camera's performance.
Apple may also add more health-conscious elements to its AirPods, which would stimulate significant sales gain. Kuo forecasts AirPods sales from around 48 million units in 2023 to between 53 and 55 million units in 2024, then rising to 65–68 million units by 2026.
Apple unveiled revised AirPods Pro in September, with professional-grade hearing aid capability, a hearing test function, and hearing protection.
