Geneva Investment Management of Chicago is an investment management company that conducts business as Geneva Advisors. The company was established in 2003 by 6 partners in Chicago, where it remains based out of. Geneva Advisors would reach $1 billion in assets under management just one year later and would launch its Small, SMID, and Mid Cap strategies in 2005. The company would continue to grow and launch more products, including mutual funds, and would reach 10 partners by 2008. The company continues to operate under a partnership structure and conducts business under its holding company Geneva Holding Company of Chicago and has reached almost 100 employees with 63 of them being investment professionals. The company conducts its research both internally and externally, utilizing a bottom up methodology with fundamental and quantitative approaches to make its investment decisions. Geneva Advisors invests most heavily in the information technology sector, which alone makes up almost a fifth of its total asset allocations, and also invests in the consumer discretionary, health care, finance, industrials, energy, utilities and telecommunications, and transports sectors, among others to a lesser degree, in order of decreasing allocation. The company currently holds approximately $7.8 billion in total assets under management spread across 13,100 accounts, all of which are discretionary accounts except for 55 that make up under a quarter of a billion in assets. Both of its total number of accounts and total managed assets have been increasing in recent years with its total managed assets growing significantly from $2.8 billion to almost three times that amount today. Geneva Advisors’s line up of mutual funds currently includes its Equity Income, Small Cap Opportunities, All Cap Growth, International Growth, and Emerging Markets funds.
